Overview
Hooyo MCN is a jewelry/gold commerce experience: shoppers browse collections while operators manage catalog and price-sensitive gold displays. The portfolio surface is a UI preview focused on merchandising clarity and trust — important when prices move with the market.
Problem
- Gold jewelry buyers need confidence: clarity on collections, craftsmanship cues, and current pricing context.
- Shop operators need catalog and operations screens that stay readable under frequent price updates.
- A generic template storefront would feel wrong for a gold-led brand.
Approach
- Designed merchandising hierarchy: featured collections → product detail → inquiry/purchase path.
- Treated gold pricing as a first-class UI concern, not a footnote.
- Kept visual language warm and premium without noisy promo clutter.
- Shipped a hosted UI preview so brand stakeholders can review flows without production inventory risk.
Architecture
- Next.js storefront for catalog and marketing surfaces.
- Express/API + PostgreSQL mindset for products, categories, and operational data.
- Separation between public browsing UX and back-office style management screens.
- Demo deployment isolated from live shop databases and payment credentials.
Outcomes
- A commerce case study that shows brand + systems thinking, not just a product grid.
- Reusable patterns for price-sensitive catalogs and collection navigation.
- Honest demo boundaries that protect real business data while still interviewing well.
Tradeoffs
- Live portfolio URL is UI preview only; real checkout/inventory stays private.
- Source GitHub is intentionally private for this client-facing brand work.
